My Budding Authors Demand Movie Deals… Like, Pronto!

I’m quite giddy at the moment.  You see, my kids just spent the evening penning their first novels.Book Manuscript

Yeah, you heard me.

Instead of merely being content tackling their classroom’s required reading, my budding authors decided that they were going to write their own stories and read them to each other thankyouverymuch.

I was overjoyed to hear them in their rooms writing away on their notepads and devising new plot points for their characters.  It was adorable!  (As you know, this Mamma loves books and always has.  It has been an obsession since my youth.)

But at this point, I am afraid that their little projects have spun out of control.

My oldest now wants his book sent to a publisher. And he would like that publisher to make his book into a movie.  Like, pronto.  Meaning – tomorrow.  Or at least by next weekend before our Blockbuster goes out of business.

He is unbelievably serious about this.

Oh dear.

There wouldn’t happen to be any publishers reading this right now that are interested in a story about a princess who finds a secret world? I, um, think she gets eaten by a cat.

Riveting, I tell you.

I love that they are interested in writing/publishing, so refreshing to hear! Good for them :-) on the video side, try the Redbox in the grocery stores, that is what it is called “RedBox” it is just $1 to rent. have tried it a few times and no problems. just FYI

Cool kids! Sounds like my girl, once she does something above and beyond the norm, she wants to take it all the way to the top STAT!

    What’s a mom to do?

That is great! My kids get on kicks like this all the time. Their latest is a band. They have planned out the band they are going to start, who is going to play what instrument, and they even have “contracts”. They think they are going to be big like the Jonas Brothers, just ask them :-)

RED BOX movies are just a buck! Can’t beat that. They are popping up everywhere. Great alternative to Blockbuster. Tell your son he needs an agent. Have him write a query letter and send it to agents for his book deal! :)
