“Knock. Knock.  Hello?  Is anyone IN THERE?”

You ever notice how God sends you messages repeatedly?  If you are not looking or are just flying blindly through life in a busybusyhurryhurryrushrush panic (like me) it is easy to see how you might miss out on important clues.

I usually never see subtle hints thrown my way. Honestly, I feel like am constantly fighting to tread water and balance the job, the kids, my husband and the housework.  Usually I have to be hit over the head with A LARGE HAMMER before picking up on them.  But for some reason these days, I am HEARING.  I am getting it.

No small miracle, that.

Anyway, in the past four weeks three words have circled around my life constantly:

  • sass
  • moxie
  • serendipity

Random, huh?  That is exactly what I thought.  Ironically, I have actually always been drawn to this trio of words.   You don’t usually hear people speak them in conversation, though. However lately, I have been exposed to them REPEATEDLY.

I believe there is a message here.  If you read my last post, then you know that my life situation has been altered.  And with that change comes a choice – too see opportunity or to see hardship.

Ever been in this same situation?

And I am now looking towards the future and what it might hold for me and my family.  I think I am still wondering what I am going to BE when I grow up.  I know a lot of people share that same sentiment.  🙂

So why THESE words?  And why NOW? I actually think it is a call to action.  What else could it be?Moxie

SASS can mean a lot of things.  The Urban Dictionary defines it as “Attitude, not backing down to the man, putting the smack down, opening a can of Bruce Lee.” The traditional definition is “lively and spirited; jaunty.”

And MOXIE.  Ahhhh, moxie.  I’ve always loved this word. “Sass, courage, spunk, determination, attitude.” I believe we can translate that directly into GIRL POWER. I remember when I was but a youngster in college (forever ago… like, really), a mentor of mine told me that I was going to go places because I possessed a “spirit filled with moxie.” Awesome.  How can you NOT love that word or want to embody that phrase?

That brings me to SERENDIPITY – a “fortunate accident” or if you prefer the more formal definition of “a talent for making fortunate discoveries while searching for other things.” This is where faith and trusting comes into play for me.  A fortunate accident or God connecting-the-dots? I think they are one in the same.

Seeing a message here? I certainly am.  As a matter of fact, I am seeing something more like a game plan.  A touch of  sass, a bit of moxie and a little serendipity and I / you will make it through.  The concept can apply to anyone out there struggling.

It is time that we (and by “we” I mean the collective momiverse out there) pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and make it happen … be it an attitude change or a diet or a new direction in our life.

Just be sure that whatever you do, you do it with a little moxie.
