Fitness Fridays… Week Three Update

This is the second post in a series to focus on

Fitness Fridays! (More here…)

I’m shocked.  I’ve lost three pounds.  It is a miracle.

I’ve been working on adjusting my lifestyle.  The biggest things I have been focusing on lately are water consumption and weight training.  As far as cardio goes, I’ve logged only 6 miles so far this week but, really, I’m still taking it easy after the marathon.  We plan to do a 10 miler on Sunday.

My husband and I are once again embarking on the Body for Life Program. Heard of it?  We did it last year and had AMAZING SUCCESS.  Let’s put it this way, I wore a bikini last year.  And I’m not young.

So, because I laid off the weight training (fool!) I gained back much of the weight I lost.  Not all, but close.  So now we are focusing back on our diet and strength training in an effort to get back into shape.

If I get there – I promise you now… I’ll post a picture.  Maybe even a bikini.  Who knows?

My goal is 12-15 pounds or a size 5-6.  Okay, now that I have put it out there…people, please keep me accountable!

Great job! What marathon did you run? Do you cross train? I swim, too and find the cardio aspect excellent – really for me compares to running with less stress on the body.

I ran the Frederick Marathon. Yes, I did cross train. I have a plantar fasciitis and therefore can’t run more than 3-4 days a week.

I am a terrible swimmer though. Good for you. Do you do tri-athalons? I am new to your blog so I don’t quite remember.

  3. Hey Jen,

I have heard about body for life and had a friend experience really good things with it. It’s about the only diet/exercise program I haven’t tried.

Stick with it – I’m glad we have an online network of fitness accountability. Monday’s weigh-in is working really well for me right now.

Thanks for participating in Fitness Fridays!

  4. I have heard of Body for Life but I don’t think I have the self discipline for it. I do, however, want to get back to weight training. I felt SO good when I was lifting heavy weights (not to be mistaken for my 40-lb 3-y/o.)

Body for Life is actually very doable – food wise. It actually has you eating 6x a day. And I am so okay with that!! :)

The workouts are a little more intense but I can honestly say that they WORK.
