If This Snow Doesn’t Stop I Might Not Make It Out Alive

I would like to introduce to you my husband’s new mistress. Because of this woman I have been left alone to fend for myself in a house filled with mischievous boys for a week.

She is very beautiful.  Oh yes.  Of course. Or at least everyone ELSE seems to think she is.  I, however, am not amused.  I find her abrasive and unyielding.  Basically, she is a wench.

Her name? SNOW.  And she is the mistress of all evil.

This is as much as I have seen of my husband for days. *Waving* "Hi honey!"

Now, most men can resist her siren song.  They patiently wait it out and pace themselves with regards to the amount of shoveling they are called to do.

NOT. MY. MAN.

He is out there constantly.  I understand his reasoning but my point of view is, “Dude! It just keeps coming down. You can’t win! Give it up and come inside.”

But what do I know?

It was the last thing he did before he went to bed late last night. It was the first thing he did when he got up this morning… and he is still doing it. He hasn’t even had his coffee yet. That, to me, is insanity.

Coffee before all things… especially the snow mistress.

And speaking of insanity – Have you ever seen “The Shining?”  I’m worried that I am on the road to that right now.  Cause seriously, how much more of this snow can we possibly take?  We are currently in the middle of our second BLIZZARD in four days.  If my power or Internet goes out I might be re-enacting this scene with the Comcast/Allegheny people.  Just a warning, yo.

My friend Amanda has a funny post up today … sort of an ode to the snow: “Bloody snow, bloody snow, bloody snow!”

Thanks for the chuckle this morning Jennifer! love the Shining reference, certainly looks like it out there this am.the thing with all the shoveling is once you are done, where are you going to go? if the streets aren’t plowed & nothing is open? well at least that is my philosophy :) no hurry to do it, cause we ain’t going anywhere soon.

  3. agreed. “she is the mistress of all evil.” yes she effing is. bitch.

I write this as my husband is outside shoveling, and the snow still coming down. Let it be known my last words were- “The roads aren’t that bad, I can make it outta here.”

    Freaking hysterical! MEN!

  7. Pretty sure Dumb Dad spends 3 to 5 hrs a day shoveling this crap because it’s preferable to being trapped inside of Casa de Dummies with the Redrum brothers on the loose. If he doesn’t get in here soon and help entertain these little people I will end him!

That is just inappropriate. See what snow crazy does to we otherwise upstanding pillars of the blogging community(<—-TOTAL HOOIE). I'd just like to know what the HELL happened to global warming, AL?!!!

  12. Yes, mine would rather be outside shoveling than trapped inside with the crazy kids! (Can’t say as I blame him though) :)

  13. Charlotte says:

Yea, I don’t understand the reasoning behind that either. How can you ever feel a sense of accomplishment if the snow just keeps coming down? I can appreciate that he wants to alleviate the stress on his back that heavy snow can bring, but SHEEEESH–drink the coffee, then bust out the shovel :)

My husband is the same way. We have no snow, but he builds shit. All. The. Time. And while I love the bookshelves, dressers and night stands, it is no fun being a mistress to wood. Wait. That doesn’t sounds right at all.

  15. Snow showers tonight and Friday, another clipper on Monday. I’m so close to going postal… I love my daughter and my dog but neither of them is much help with the whole snow shoveling thing!
