Organization. Challenges. Snow Days.

It’s been a difficult couple of weeks people. Because of the two blizzards, my kids have now been on break since February 5th. Couple that with the fact that I launched a new business on February 1st and well, its been kinda, CHALLENGING.

Case in point, to the left is today’s “desk.” I had to move all of my work downstairs with the kiddos while they watch iCarly re-runs. (Note to self: Don’t try to be concentrate while “random dancing” is on.)

The biggest challenge has been dealing with the need for ORGANIZATION. Even the word itself is intimidating, let alone with kids who have been on snow break for nine days. I’m trying to organize the business, clients, tasks, blog responsibilities, the Momz Share event and my little ones. Maybe it is me, but I am finding it hard to concentrate and focus. Know what I mean?

How do YOU  juggle the responsibilities of  parenthood and business / blogging during times like this?  (Besides consuming copious amounts of alcohol before noon?)

  1. I’m with you, working and having the little one at home has been a huge challenge. It finally hit me that things will just have to wait and I have done as much as I could without completely going insane. You’ll be back on track before you know it. Just hang in there!

Oh, no, I have no idea what you mean at all. The last few weeks have been a blast! I’ve been savoring every moment with my kids! I love life!

    Ha.

Beth – I know what you mean. Some days I get things done, others I just throw in the towel. And Jill … HA, INDEED.

I totally hear ya on the desperate need for Organization during all this unexpected snow day chaos. It’s so hard to grab just a few minutes of “focused thinking” time that I desperately crave right now. And because my work/mommy schedule is such a mess, I don’t feel like doing either.

  5. I don’t bother. I gave up on day 5. I’m currently locked in the bathroom with my laptop and a quart of ice cream. They can have the house!

Why don’t we just put all of our boys in one house and both of our husbands? We can hide ourselves away in the other house. Eh?

  6. If it weren’t for the fact my children would decimate the house in less than 30 seconds I would have left days ago.
I try to bribe them with videos, cookies for breakfast, and lots of wii games.
    So far its not working.

I’m not juggling the kid thing, but I still support the idea of alcohol before noon :)

I got a lot of laundry and cleaning done this week. Does that count as being productive?

My kids also watch re-runs of iCarly all the time. When I have seen the episode before I know it is time for them to find something else to watch.
