It's funny that you posted this, Jen... I had a similar chat with a friend the other day and I promised myself that I'd start running again. I've been so focused on my cycling and work that I haven't put on running shoes in (embarrassed to say) about 9 months. And running is so much better for clearing the cobwebs in your head, you know?

I totally know how you feel! I began the couch 2 5K running program in October and now I am training for my first 1/2 marathon. I was not a runner earlier in life, but now I love how I feel after a training run. This last Sunday I went out for a 5 mile run. A. FIVE. MILE. run! 6 months ago that wouldn't have been possible or something I wanted to do.

Running brings me peace.

WORD! I ran a marathons (first and only running race in my life) 2 years ago and felt like a rockstar at the end of EVERY training run. Maybe the best part of the whole thing was when i would do a half-sized training run (like, just 8 miles as opposed to the 16 from the week before) and as i came in the door my husband would look at me with great concern...

"What's wrong?!"...

"Nothing!"...

"Why are you back so soon?"...

"It was just 8 miles today."...

"Oh... I am just not used to you being back so soon!"

OH MY GOODNESS! I WASN'T EVEN RUNNING 2 MILES 3 MONTHS AGO!!

I am woman, hear me roar!

And, when you are running, you feel skinny, no matter how flabby you are!

I just had baby #4 and am finally able to start running again. Feels awesome!

I look forward to meeting you in Baltimore at Boot Camp, Jennie!

I am so glad Jen! And honored to share the "badass" connection. May it never be snuffed out and may we run many miles together again...if even in spirit! See you soon. xo

Just ran my first half marathon last weekend and loved every second of it. Running another in May.

You are right, running makes you feel like a badass. So go on girl. Get your groove back.

Girl, I am so with you. You know, I signed up for a 1/2 marathon when Babe was just 5 months old... just so I would have a goal. Now, 2 months before the actual 1/2 I am wondering what the heck I did... I might not be fast, or strong, but the training is helping me focus on me. It's my time to just enjoy the silence and my breath.

Kudos to your jumpstart. Let me know how you're doing!

Its funny that you posted this today because I have been feeling the exact same way and just this morning I fired up the treadmill after a month hiatus and I kid you not the sucker DIED...literally went haywire and all the buttons started blinking, the fan came on, my Ipod connection went blank, and the incline was going up and down on its own.
Then it flatlined.
I wonder if God is trying to tell me its time to start running outside?
