Teri Hatcher – Mommyblogger?

Is Teri Hatcher becoming a mommy blogger?

Possibly.

Teri Hatcher, known to the masses as one of the stars of Desperate Housewives, will soon be launching her very own lifestyle site called Get Hatched. (Cute name!) She isn’t fooling around either, it is being produced by DisneyFamily.com.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

Teri Hatcher has teamed with Disney to launch a Web site for chicks. The “Desperate Housewives” star has a tease of her GetHatched.com site set to begin Monday, but it launches in earnest in the spring. Nicknamed “a chick’s guide to life,” the site is produced by Disney Family.com, with creative and editorial insight from Hatcher and a small team of contributors.

“I have a compelling passion to be a woman with other women,” Hatcher said. “We’re the caregivers, the teachers, the lovers.”

“I’m just open and talk about anything, usually with humor, because that’s what gets me through the day,” she added. “I don’t self-edit.”

Celebrity guests are expected to weigh in as well, though she said her “Housewives” colleagues don’t even know about the project.

“This isn’t the Teri Hatcher reality series,” she said. “I’m not afraid to talk about what worked for me and what hasn’t.” Like the time she rushed out of the house, her hair looking a wreck, to pick up a few groceries and was met by paparazzi. An unflattering photo in magazines and on the Internet was the result. “I should have taken an extra 30 seconds to show I have style,” she said.

Will she be the next Dooce? I doubt it.  Because, well, who is? But I am certainly intrigued!  Looking forward to reading Get Hatched and hoping that she will be tapping into some real life moms as contributors, not just those involved in the world of celebrities and celebrity-making.  BTW – Terri, if you want a normal (read: plane old middle class) working mom’s perspective on life, give me a call! :)

Not being an avid TV-watcher since the 80s, I keep forgetting that these new trendy shows like DH even exist. lol… In my mind, she’s famous for being on MacGyver and playing one of the Bond women in Tomorrow Never Dies. :)

Hey, wait a minute… you distracted everyone with the cute pic and story while you used the term ‘Mommy Blogger’ – I thought that phrase was generally frowned upon?

It is not always frowned upon, depends on who you are. :) MacGyver? REALLY? I am slightly freaking that I am more hip than you are…

very cool, but I’m not sure if this whole “blogging” thing isn’t just a fad. btw- read my blog! ;)

seriously- It’s good to know Disney Family is funding things like that. It shows foresight!

Wondering what it is going to be all about. Celebrity bloggers are invading our world…hehehe

  8. I feel like so many celebs just can’t get enough. Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, Mags, books, bands and talk shows.. oh my. Bloggers like Dooce (that is NOT an endorsement btw) started something that pretty much anyone with a computer and web connection could do if they wanted too. Do it well? That’s a different story but, do it they can. Could say, Hip As I Wanna Be, soar to the level of a Dooce with the backing of the “Mouse” SURE! But will that happen when lovely and recognizable ladies like Terry Hatcher (luvs her I do) can leverage their celebrity to do what you have to work so hard at? Doubtful. Then there is the idea that Terry herself may not be the actual author of this blog. Would that require the same FTC disclosure that my Cheerios giveaway does? Again, doubtful. All in all though it’s a wide wide web out there with room for us all. FYI Ms. Hatcher I’ve got 4 kids, an opinion and I WORK CHEAP!

I speak a few languages, travel a lot, and have fashionable eyewear. You on the other hand, have an iPhone.

    We’ll call it a tie. ;)

  10. yeah but her dam iPhone sucks as a phone. Ugh one more convo with myself while I think she’s listening and I’ll go loopy. Of course that may have little to do with the iPhone. he he

Interesting, I had not heard this!
I actually quite like her in interviews, comes across as real and funny and down to earth. HATE her character on the show, like her, so does that make her a good actress?

Anyhow, I look forward to her site, and will check out her book – didnt know she had one.
