I’m not a hero.

I tell stories. I call television stations. I use social media. I write newsletters.

But I don’t save lives.

I’m not a first responder.

You won’t find me counseling abused children or navigating a family through a crisis.

I’m not a hero.

But I am blessed.

I can’t tell you how easy it is to becomeoverwhelmed by the power of the clients that I have theprivilegeto work with.

Today was one of those overwhelming days.

Mission of Mercy was part of Project Homeless Connect in Baltimore, MD. I was asked to come along and document the day with their staff. To speak with their patients and doctors so that I can later relay their stories.

In the span of a few short hours they screened and triaged 97 patients. Their volunteer doctors treated 27 individuals and dispensed 30 medications. There were two patients who had to be taken immediately to the hospital. Mission of Mercy probably helped save those lives.

How powerful.

And I got to be a part of it. Even if it was a small part.

What an honor.
