If Twitter is what you say, and Facebook is who you are, then LifeKraze is what you do.

LifeKraze is a social networking platform and iPhone application that rewards and encourages your  personal accomplishments. I’ve recently begun using it and I’m really enjoying the time I spend on it.

One thing I am really excited about is that they recently launched an initiative called “Running Days”  being lead by actor Sean Astin. (One of my favorite actors! Rudy, Lord Of The Rings, etc.) Unbeknownst to me, Astin has been a long-distance runner for the past 25 years and is just returning to the sport after an injury.

Let me just pause here and say…. WHO KNEW GOOD OLE SAMWISE GAMGEE RAN MARATHONS?! I love him even more now.

Anyway, he will share his progress through a campaign he created called #Run3rd, an initiative to encourage runners to use their activity to benefit others.

GO GAMGEE! (Okay, I’ll stop now. It is just too hard to resist.)

The launch of the Running Days initiative also brings other running legend Mark Covert to the community. Not familiar? He holds the American record for longest continuous streak of daily running: over 44 years and over 150,000 miles run. (I seriously bow to his greatness. Wow. Just… wow.)

LifeKraze members will have a variety of ways to celebrate running during Running Days including redeeming points for mixes by Rock My Run as well as engaging with co-sponsors The Color Run™, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and the Salomon Rock/Creek Trail Series. They’ll be  providing running tips and articles to guide LifeKrazers.

If you are a runner interested in getting involved (and why wouldn’t you be?), you can also participate by helping to raise awareness for causes with running by using the hashtag #Run3rd.

For more information on Running Days and #Run3rd, go to the official LifeKraze page. LifeKraze is free to join and is available internationally in the iTunes App Store and online at lifekraze.com.
