I’m reinstating a photo blog series that began January 1st of this year which I called “A Day In Pictures.”I stopped publishing it because life became a little too crazy and, quite frankly, I plain forgot.
I’m going to cover a three day period this time, as well. (Hey, it’s MY blog, you know.) I’m just breaking all the rules these days…
Saturday, December 15th
My family came over to visit and celebrate my birthday with coffee and cake and my sister in-law Anna surprised me with this gorgeous hand made creation. This picture does not do it justice, believe me! It was a pink and black runner themed cake complete with a marathon girl, water bottle, iPod, headphones and Garmin. Best. Cake. Ever. Not only did she create that cake, she also made me a Tres Leches cake, which is my all-time favorite. I’ve been in sugar heaven, people.

My husband is the absolute best.
BEST, I TELL YOU!
He surprised us on Sunday with a birthday excursion to The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. to see Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. I’m going to tell you right now that I am a big geek when it comes to the theatre, especially musicals. We had phenomenal seats and the show was FANTASTIC. Oh, the costumes! The music! The TAP DANCING! Let me say that again…. the TAP DANCING. It was glorious.
Jazz hands FTW!
Monday, December 17th
A full day of Christmas shopping with the hubby. It is an annual tradition. I like to joke that we celebrate my birth by spending a crap ton of money on other people. It is fun, actually. And I love the satisfaction of crossing people off of my shopping list.
This year my pals at Nintendo surprised me with a flower delivery. Not only was it a beautiful and thoughtful gift but also reaffirmed to my children that I am, indeed, the coolest mom on the planet. (Shh… don’t tell them any different.)
A big thank you to all of my friends and relatives who birthday bombed my Facebook page. Wowee….. who said y’all didn’t care?! And last but not least, a huge smooch to Mr. Google who, in honor of my big day, sent a couple of thousand folks to this blog. Best blogger gift ever!
