I’m an action-oriented kind of gal. I’ve got to-do lists everywhere. (Hell, I have to-do lists for my to-do lists.) I set goals religiously. Long term, short term, whatever… I’m on it.

I love to check boxes and strike through items as I accomplish them. I’m geeky that way.

But these days, I’m trying to keep my lists simple and accomplishable. Like, remembering to wear matching shoes or pay the mortgage or, you know,  feed the children.

I KID. (Kinda)

To be perfectly candid, there is one specific goal that I have been focusing on more than others for the past few months. It is important to me and was inspired by a conversation with a friend.

In a nutshell? My goal is to not be a FUN SUCKER.

A fun sucker is someone who, as the title suggests, sucks the fun out of every single situation.

It is the “no” person.

The “yeah, but” guy.

The ultra anal planner that can’t let go and have fun for once. Ahem.

That one individual who manages to complicate every  moment with their rules, expectations or (mere) existence.

I never want to be that person.

Okay, so if I’m going to be entirely honest, I should admit that I’ve drained the energy of a situation from time to time. (Who me? Shocking!) But I’m really trying to keep a spontaneous and carefree attitude.

The control freak in me finds that extremely hard to do.

But what I want more than anything in the world is to keep a good attitude. (I’m so not getting any younger, you know?)

I want to…

Laugh loudly.

Smile constantly.

Light up a room with positivity and enthusiasm.

Try something different and be open to a new approach.

Be crazy. (Okay, crazIER.)

And NOT suck the fun out of life.
