Sometimes a girl has to enjoy a night off.
All I’m sayin’…
In that spirit, my friends and I hopped a limo (because we do that on a regular basis, of course) and headed over to the the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. for the Best of Washington Party by Washingtonian Magazine.
The sold-out event (over 2,000 guests strong) features more than 60 of Washingtonian’s 100 Best Restaurants with chefs serving up delish offerings all evening.
One of the major sponsors? Patron.
Patron bars everywhere. Patron pop-sickles, even.
So, pretty much heaven.
I don’t know if I can single out my favorite meals or restaurants – they were all fantastic! I do know that I was hooked on the the Truffle Parmesan popcorn from Chef Geoff. (Yes, it was really that good.)
I loved the way they carried the vintage travel theme throughout the affair. From the entry to the bars and signage, the decor truly stood out. Of course, the fact that Qatar Airways and BMW sponsored lounges, did make quite an impression. (We made a pit stop at the BMW lounge to fill up goody bags at the candy bar for our kids.) And the marketer in me loved the giant iPad screen displaying all social interactions with the #bestofwashington hashtag. Brilliant!
I have but one single regret from the evening – not snagging a Georgetown Cupcake before they ran out. I’ve never tried a Georgetown Cupcake and by the time we made it to the booth they were gone. So sad!
This party did not disappoint – they can definitely count us in for attendance at next year’s event!
