I am so unbelievably behind with this blog.

And there has been a ton going on lately in my world. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. This post will probably end up a mish mosh of information so fair warning.

Where to start? How about … Buffalo?

Yeah, I know what you are thinking. I’d never pondered a business trip to Buffalo, either. Nonetheless, I hopped a flight to NY a week ago to attend the District 2 American Advertising Federation’s Fall Leadership Conference.

The conference is a fairly intimate gathering of industry executives from across the region who gather together to discuss leadership and club development. During the weekend we also had the opportunity to attend some rather interesting sessions focusing on advertising and marketing topics. Rather than have me recap it any more, feel free to check out my Instagram feed. Also, turns out that Buffalo is so much more than the cliches of snow and wings. Who knew?

And then there is that marathon thing…

Steamtown is just around the corner and, except for a few sparse runs, we’re pretty much finished with our training. Last week Katie and I hit 20 miles and I’m happy to report that we ended that run feeling confident that we’ll have the wherewithal to cross the finish line on the 12th. At this point we’re not above rolling across it.

It is slightly ironic that I now find myself thoroughly done with running. I’m irritated at the limitations marathon training brings. (Translation: no fun on weekends.) I mean, we’ve been at this since April or May. It ain’t easy. Friday nights are shot because you have to sleep. Saturday nights are shot because you can’t keep your eyes open. It is hard on your body, hard on your family and hard on your schedule.

All this being said, I have no doubt that I will hit mile 10 of the event and be sad that it is almost over. I’m a fickle that way.

As for the rest of my life…

The new issue of Frederick Gorilla Magazine just hit the streets with my name listed as executive editor. Yes, you read that correctly. Executive editor. Very exciting, indeed.

Please give it a read.  I’d love to hear your feedback!
