On the first day of Christmas vacation, my true love gave to me… a germ from a holiday party. (The sentence works better when you actually sing it to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas. You’re welcome.)
Now, I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that I probably had too much too drink one night. Sadly – not true. Oh how I wish it were.
This is not a hangover. This is a full-on two day sinus pressure, headache, body ache, hot and cold flash, dizzy and sleep inducing kind of sickness
I’m a cranky hot mess.
People, I have to finish Christmas shopping. I have to wrap presents and prepare for nine people (yes NINE people) to visit the day after Christmas. I have to bake. I have functions to attend and phone calls to make. I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS.
But germs don’t listen to reason, dammit.
Okay, fine. I’m sure I need the rest. I’ve been working a lot lately. Sleep is probably a good thing. In fact this is probably my body’s way of telling me to SLOW DOWN ALREADY.
“Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us. ? Maya Angelou
Okay, Maya. I get it. I need the rest. But next time, let’s get the timing a little better.
