The Joy of A Simple Smile

Did you know it is National Smile Week?

It is said that the simple upturn of your mouth has the power to calm fear, insecurity, hurt, and anxiety. That one simple gesture had the capacity to turn someone’s entire day around.

Not only that, smiles are incredibly contagious. In fact, I dare you not to smile back someone. (Try  at it. Much more difficult than it seems.)

See this kid? ALWAYS HAPPY. Always smiling. A ray of sunshine.

He is my inspiration.

My little man is 14 and has had the good fortune of being able to undergo Invisalign treatment as part of my involvement in the Invisalign Teen Mom Advisory Board. For the past year, he has had braces, though most of his peers had no idea. Invisalign was a great option for him. He literally flew through treatment with nary a problem.

It was  huge blessing because honestly, although he needed braces badly, we were convinced he couldn’t handle traditional treatment. (He is incredibly sensitive and it would be a huge issue.)

We’ve been thrilled.

I’ve personally always wanted braces. My parents were never able to afford it, however. I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to undergo treatment myself.
