The holiday shopping season is in full swing and our pals at BitDefender are here to share best practices for safe holiday shopping!

Shopping via mobile devices and through social media instead of using home and office computers is a new trend this year. New Facebook Safety App: BitDefender’s safego (Beta)

I don’t know about you but I live and work on Facebook.  That is why I totally excited to introduce you to a wonderful new app created by BitDefender:  It is called safego and it was created specifically to protect your Facebook account.

Brilliant, right?

safego was designed to protect us from prying eyes and e-threats while also allowing us to safely access shared pictures, videos, and files. It curbs threats to personal privacy, spam attacks, and malware distribution campaigns.

How does it work?

Installing safego provides:

  • Privacy protection- You’ll be warned when you should modify your Facebook privacy settings so that personal information isn’t exposed.
  • Automatic scanning- Just press the “scan now” button to get a snapshot of your Facebook security status.
  • 24/7 protection- Your account is protected even when you’re not logged into Facebook.
  • Protection for your friends- You’ll have the ability to warn your friends about infected links in their Facebook accounts.

Since safego is in BETA version, BitDefender would like you to be a part of this new product by sharing your opinion during the final testing phase. Direct feedback will be used by the company to make final tweaks.

Here’s how you can help:

A Hilarious And Not So Subtle Message To Mom

So yesterday, my adorable, innocent kids were all excited to share a funny YouTube video with me that they had found over the weekend. They begged their daddy to find it again because it was “me” and it was “hilarious.”

Having viewed said video I do agree (wince!) that it is indeed “hilarious” (!) and um, yeah, I guess it is “me.”

That smarts.

I think I have some re-prioritizing to do. Don’t you? (Feel free to chuckle…)
