“Only write to me, write to me, I love to see the hop and skip and sudden starts of your ink.” ? A.S. Byatt, Possession File this under observances I didn’t know existed – Universal Letter Writing Week. Yes, there is a week for that – January 8-14, 2014 – to be exact. While the existence of this observance doesn’t necessarily surprise me, (there IS such a thing as oatmeal week for crying out loud) it has prompted me to slow down, take pen in hand and make the occasion in the only way befitting it – by writing scores of  them. THIS is my new friend. My EXPENSIVE new friend. Courtesy of my husband, Michael. Now before you go all “Awwwww, what a great guy!” on me, know that he had an ulterior motive – TO SAVE HIS STUFF. (No guarantees, though. I don’t lead a particularly fabulous life…)   First, things first – meet Mia. My ten week old little ball of fur. She was barely in the house ten minutes when I turned into that crazy cat lady. WICKED CUTE, that one.…

You may have noticed that this blog looks very different these days. Well, that is because I found a new blog theme and fell immediately in love with it. And so, being the spur of the moment gal that I am, I purchased it and proceeded to install my very first theme all by my little lonesome. What the hell was I thinking? The installation went fairly well but the customization is a slow, slow process. The ultimate problem is that I am not a graphic designer. (Oh how I wish.) So I am customizing it one tiny bit at…
