Woo hoo, it’s Friday!  Not only is it the best day of the week but also the day we profile another blogger in the series “A Day In My Not-So-Hip-Life.” (What is it all about?  Back story and the first post.)

Meet the lovely Lara of Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom.  Lara is my girl.  I whine to her. A lot.  I *may* talk to her more than I talk to my own husband.  The jury is still out on that.  She is a snarky wench who knows way to much about everything.  She is like my own private Google.

And, of course, she has a totally  hip life, just like the rest of us!  Here is her story:

Last night I took my family to see Disney on Ice in Baltimore.  So super fun!

My kids had a blast.  I had a blast.  My husband… well, he had fun but his Phillies are in the World Series so he was kinda preoccupied.

THE BEST PART?  I got to hang with my gals!  Lara of Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom and Mary of Pajamas & Coffee.  SA-WEET!

Together we make one fine group of, um, Hip Chicken Nuggets In Pajamas?  Well, whatever.  You get my point.

Not exactly the same as a girl’s night out but still, it was nice to connect for the night.

When you put us all together we have like, 382 kids so we DID have to pay attention to the little buggers and make sure we kept track of them.  Cause how bad would that look if we lost kids at a Disney show?

Actually, I am sure it has been done before.  And that might have made a good blog post, come to think of it…but anyway.

BUT ONE LAST THING… You know how I feel about Tinkerbell, right?  Well, last night she was there and I swear she was waving JUST TO ME.  No, not to those darling little pre-schoolers all dolled up in their fairy wings.  Me!

This might come as a tremendous surprise to you but I had a night out on the town this past Friday.  I know. Truly amazing… an ACTUAL girl’s night out.  No one is more surprised than me.

I met up with a group of inspiring mom bloggers from across the great state of Maryland.  We convened in Baltimore (Inner Harbor) at La Tasca.  Now, I’ve been to La Tasca a time or two and was thoroughly familiar with their fabulous tapas and Sangria. But this time we were treated like royalty by Santana (manager) and Brad (waiter extraordinaire). The food was, of course, delish!

It was so nice to get to know the ladies BEHIND the blogs.  Some things surprised me and some exceeded my imaginations.  All in all, I had a terrific time surrounded by inspiring women and made some new friends.  Can’t ask for a better girl’s night out than that, can you? (Unless you have a driver and are thereby free to consume vast amounts of Sangria.)

(Seriously. Coffee heaven for me. Ohmygosh! Thanks MaryMac for torturing them into submission getting the donation!) We also got some great stuff from Shaklee by Clean Mama (@AboutShaklee), Piggy Paint (@PiggyPaint)  and WAT-AAH! (@WAT AAH).  And a big shoutout to Lara from Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom for spearheading the treats as well as organizing this little meetup.  She is a true cheerleader, not to mention Tapas connoisseur.

My hometown of Frederick also came through IN A BIG WAY for the Maryland Mom Bloggers. Did I feel like a queen?  Why, yes. I did.  Was I inspired? Of course!  In the end I discovered that we are all moms who desperately love our children seeking to connect with one another out there in the blogosphere.  See, we are not so different after all.

Pajamas & Coffee + Hip As I Wanna Be = Hip Pajamas?

My bloggity-blog pal, Lara is not only a totally cool mom to four, OMG (!) FOUR, kiddos but she also manages to stay sane by blogging over at Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom. Yes, I know. Hilarious title. I can so relate cause, um, that is all my kids eat.

Well hello there Hipsters! I’m DiPaola Momma of the Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom. I was totally knocked out of my socks when Jenn asked ME to guest post for HER! Almost enough to stop my daily campaign to secure a spot in her vacation luggage ensemble. After all when one is hip one does not simply have bags they have travel ensembles, right?
