You know you are officially a soccer mom when you travel for a tournament. As in, stay for the night. As in, spend way too much money to spend two days in the sweltering heat watching soccer games.
Which is where I was this weekend. We participated in a tournament in Hershey, PA on Saturday and Sunday. Hershey, people!! Home of Hershey Park and Hershey yumminess! Total and complete happiness. Stuff of my dreams, man.
Traveling to Hershey, to me, means four things:
Reality was slightly different. Closest I got to chocolate in my dreamland was a spoon of my son’s Frosty at Wendy’s on the way home. Meh.
Aside from the chocolate letdown, our family did have a blast (despite the sweltering heat) and I learned a few things about life and boys and soccer which, alas, I am too tired to relay at this moment. What I CAN tell you is that bringing 16 children to a restaurant for dinner is not the best idea if you would like to emerge with your reputation still in tact. Which is why I drank wine and pretended like I had never seen those children before in my life. Soooo much better for the psyche.

Little man was MVP on Sunday

Have you heard about this?! Inhaled Chocolate. No calories. OMG!
A guy named David Edwards (Harvard professor, no less) invented a thing called “Le Whif” They call it a “revolutionary new way of eating chocolate – by breathing it.”
Chocolate WITHOUT THE CALORIES. Total proof that there IS a God and he loves me.
It goes on sale later this month in Europe. It’ll be available in four flavors - mint chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mango chocolate, and plain chocolate.
WOW. I believe I can die in peace now.

Sometimes I’m so stupid that I even surprise myself. Did you know that Easter is Sunday? Oh, you did? Yeah, apparently so did everyone else in the world.
I almost missed it. It just occurred to me this morning.
I knew it was coming. I mean, I’d given up all sweets for lent. I’ve been a raving nasty lunatic for weeks now. You would think I would have a countdown clock until CHOCOLATE (!).
But, no, I have not PREPARED ONE THING. Not one. My kids will have no baskets. No candy. No eggs. No Easter clothes. No ginormous chocolate bunny. Nothing.
Last night would have been a perfect opportunity to go shopping for the holiday. My kids stayed over at my parents house. Did I remember in time to take advantage of that?
Nope. Instead hubby and I drank wine, ate steak and watched a movie.
Such good parents.
So now I have ONE DAY to get it right. Tomorrow I am off…with the kids…and the in-laws are coming to town. So basically, today at lunch I need to get EVERYTHING.
No pressure.
