Momz Share Profile: Wife And Mommy

Name and Name of Blog: Michelle, Wife and Mommy

Other blogs you write that you would like me to include: DC Metro Moms, and a review blog that has yet to be launched!

Twitter name: @wifeandmommy

Tell us a little bit about your blog:

Wife and Mommy is a blog about my life…and this season of my life is mostly focused on being a wife and mommy and raising biracial kids.  Yet I consider the many different aspects of my life, so I blog about anything that catches my attention, thoughts that pop into my head, books I like, etc.  It’s a mish-mash and you never know what you’re going to find!

Please answer TWO of the following questions: (Your choice.)

Name one thing that might surprise people about you: I am the first person in my family–immediate and extended–to become a U.S. citizen.  I beat them all by being born here while they were waiting to become naturalized citizens!  As a result, I straddled two cultures as I was growing up, and now I work to incorporate both as I am am raising my own children.

Aside from blogging, what would you name as some of your passions? I love to read.  The Husband knows that when I hunker down with a good book and and a warm blanket, he has lost me for a good chunk of time.  I’ve also recently become enamored with knitting.  I find it very soothing, and I like having a sense of accomplishment as I look over my work-in-progress!

We all love to discover new blogs.  Name two of your favs!

Lumpyhead is one of my favorite blogs, mostly because she has a sharp wit and keeps me laughing.  It also helps that she is my doppelgänger.  Our lives have similarities–we each have three gorgeous biracial children in a boy-girl-boy combination, we both live in the NoVA area, and we often mistake ourselves for the other!  But our lives also have differences, namely that she has a high-ranking, powerful job that makes me oooh and ahhh.  I aspire to grow up to be like her one day.
Big Red Kitchen is another favorite blog I like to follow.  I mean, who doesn’t love pictures of yummy-licious foods that make you drool?  I do.  I am not a foodie, although I appreciate good food!  Robin Sue has great recipes that are easy enough for me to follow and she has not lead me astray yet.

Momz Share Profile: There Must Be More To Life Than Dishes And Laundry

Name and Name of Blog: Michelle -  There Must Be More To Life Than Dishes and Laundry…
Twitter name: @brennbug

Tell us a little bit about your blog:

Twenty-something mommy to two nine year olds and one seven year old, on a new adventure, living on the east coast, thousands of miles from our family. Working as a full-time nanny to infant twins, still a full-time mommy. I’m always busy and there is always more laundry and dishes than this mommy of three can keep up with! Want to join me on the journey?

What do you love the most about blogging? The community. I have met some amazing women through my blog. It is always nice to know that other people are dealing with the same struggles and joys that I am on this crazy journey called parenthood.

Name one thing that might surprise people about you. My dream job would be to work in politics. My degree is in Political Science. I interned at a lobbying firm in Denver while still in college and worked at a law firm after college. Now that I have three kids my priorities have shifted. The long hours, and long commute of a job in politics is not in the cards for me right now but I still think I would LOVE it!

Name two of your favorite blogs on the internet and introduce us to them:

Picking just two is so hard. I have at least 7 or 8 great blogs I could recommend but since I like to play by the rules: Evolving Mommy Catherine is one of my best IRL friends. We met when I was 10 and she moved in across the street. We have been great friends ever since. She is a SAHM to a beautiful 2 year old daughter. She writes about motherhood, family, friends, and cooking. She does a great job of being real and writing on a variety of topics.

Living in the Moment Brittany is a great writer and I love reading her posts. She writes about being a high school teacher, working out, being a wife, and just living life. She also is a sweetie and faithful commenter, what is there not to love?
