Let’s give a big welcome to another Momz Share participant for the first quarter! Go visit her blog and say hi!
Name and Name of Blog: Bailey Vincent Clark of Makeover Momma
I also write for My Classy Girl.net with fellow mom blogger “A Mom In Red High Heels” For mothers of daughters…
Twitter name: @makeovermomma
Tell us a little bit about your blog: I wrote the Makeover Momma book (not yet published) and created the website right after the birth of my first daughter. I had been working as a certified personal trainer and health professional for newly post-partum moms, and really want to combine small, practical bits of information (for fashion, fitness, nutrition and beauty) that could let moms feel their best, when they’re short on time, money and energy.
Name one thing that might surprise people about you: If you follow me on Twitter you might already know this, but I am actually legally deaf (almost completely profound), but had enough hearing as a child that my speech was unaffected. Recently, my second daughter (7 months old) was diagnosed as hard of hearing, so our family is embarking on learning sign language (and hoping to be fluent soon!)
Aside from blogging, what would you name as some of your passions? I have been writing for an editor since I was 13 years old, but I of course have always loved teaching dancing part-time as well (ballet, jazz, tap), homeschooling both of my girls, and have always loved fictional writing (that was my first love, far before journalism!)
Name two of your favorite blogs on the internet!
- I am newly interested in The Beauty Buff Blog.com. It is a brand new beauty-centered website (started by a former makeup artist), who really breaks down the “ins and outs” of makeup and products.
- Is it a complete “sell out” to say that I honestly love the blogs of my fellow mommy-friends Jennifer (duh, from Hip As I Wanna Be) and Lara? I don’t care… I love their honest, open opinions!

Let’s give a big welcome to another Momz Share participant for the first quarter! Check out her blog and say hi!
Name and Name of Blog: Thien-Kim & I’m Not the Nanny
Other blogs you write?
I blog about crafts, cooking and other creative endeavors (especially with kids) at Cup of Creativi-Tea. I’m also chronicling my adventures with Dr Oz’s 90 Day Sex Challenge at Laugh in Bed
Twitter name: @thienkim
Tell us a little bit about your blog:
After getting tired of other moms on the playground asking me if I was my daughter’s nanny, I decided I needed a place to vent. Of course it’s not all complaints, I share the ups of parenting too. I never thought it would be a challenge to raise bi-racial children in such a metropolitan area, but hopefully I can do it without cursing anyone out in front of my kids. If I do, you can come along for the ride.
Something unique about you?
I have a degree in costume design. Since I’ve been a mommy, I don’t get to do much costume design and construction. However I do take commissions. A few years ago I was given the opportunity to sew a Queen Elizabeth costume for a client’s 40th birthday. It was hard work but fun! Lately I’ve been sewing clothes for my 4 year old daughter. Ironically, if my shirt lost a button, it’d take me 6 months before I’d get around to sewing it back on.
Aside from blogging, what would you name as some of your passions?
One of my other passion is my business, Kim’s Passion Parties. Basically I get to go to an awesome woman’s home, meet her girlfriends, eat her food, drink her wine, and talk about sex toys. Oh, and sell them too. I’ve been doing it for over 8 years, and I love every minute of it! Seriously, though, I get to help women of all ages discover how to take charge of their pleasure. Heck, last week, I met with a woman who hasn’t had sex in 2 years. She refuses to cheat on her husband, so I’m glad I was able to give her some goodies to save her sanity. How cool is that?
Two of your fav places on the Internet?
I love Ricë Freeman-Zachery from Notes from the Voodoo Cafe. Imagine a writer/artist with hot pink hair who wears bright orange clothes AND is a white woman married to a black man in the middle Texas. Enough said.
Jean from Stimeyland never fails to make me laugh. AND I’m still mad I missed her Wii Fit party because I was in the hospital birthing a baby. (Ok, I’m only sort of kidding)

Let’s give a big welcome to another Momz Share participant for the first quarter! Be sure to stop by her blog to meet her…
Name and Name of Blog: marymac, www.pajamasandcoffee.com
Twitter name: @marymac
Tell us a little bit about your blog:
The tagline is ‘Where Mediocrity Kicks Perfection’s Ass’ because it’s my belief that as a society we need to CHILL! That’s also why I named the blog Pajamas and Coffee, because I’m writing it (and am hopeful people are enjoying it…) in pajamas drinking coffee! My blog redesigner just called my blog “cheeky and risque” so I guess that’s as good a description as any!
Most surprising or coolest thing that has happened as a result of your blogging?
Appearing on national TV! I was interviewed by JuJu Chang for ABC as a result of a back to school post I wrote. Also? looking forward to speaking at BlogHer ’10 in New York City this August!
Name one thing that might surprise people about you.
I was Friendly’s Waitress of the Year in King of Prussia PA in the 80s. I rocked the polyester blue checked dress, and could rock the Jim Dandy sundae like no other.

Give us the skinny on two of your favorite blogs and why you love them!
www.ooph.com– Stefanie is a good friend of mine and is a mom of teens- hard to find other mom/bloggers writing about older kids. She was in the New York Times with her sons today as a result of her blog!
www.thebloggess.com- Jenny has always been one of my biggest inspirations because of her writing style and amazing humor….and also her mentoring!

Let’s give a big welcome to the second Momz Share participant for the first quarter! Be sure to stop by her blog to meet her…
Name and Name of Blog: Jessica McFadden
Blog Name: A Parent in Silver Spring
Twitter name: JessicaAPISS
Other blogs that you write:
I contribute to A Parent in America on The Washington Times Communities and the DC Metro Moms Blog, I freelance in The Washington Post Weekend Section on family activities, I work writing for Nickelodeon Parents Connect, and on Thursday nights I appear on A Family Affair with Tommy McFly on Mix 107.3, DC’s #1 FM Radio Station to provide listeners with fun, out-of-the-ordinary weekend activities.
Tell us a little bit about your blog, A Parent In Silver Spring:
I am a family features writer. I started A Parent in Silver Spring two years ago in order to help parents in the DC area easily find resources and fun activities to share with their kids. I don’t preach – I’m just a fellow mom making oodles of mistakes – but I try and deliver the goods with a sense humor.
Most surprising or coolest thing that has happened as a result of your blogging?
By logging onto Blogger for a free blog and creating a homespun family resource in January 2008, I have been able to create a flexible, profitable career that incorporates educational fun for my children, keeps the kids as my top priority, but satisfies my dream of working as a writer.
Name one thing that might surprise people about you.
In my 20s I used to go out every night of the week, and in my 30s I’m now obsessed with all these daytime activities for kids (the shoes are sure more comfortable!) I sleep with two cats on my feet but have an irrational fear of encountering undomesticated small mammals in the wild. I love pretentious indie films and also tweenie bopper romances about traveling princesses wearing ice skating pants. I used to be horribly messy until the ability to DVR all those home organization and hoarder shows straightened me out. Pretty standard really.
We all love to discover new blogs. Name two of your favorite blogs on the internet (with links) and briefly tell what you love about them.
Only two? How about two types of blogs? And I have got to keep it within the DC area family or we’ll be here all day!
For fellow resource blogs, I think that AutMont, Baby Bunching, Mothers With Cancer, Teach Mama & Tech Savvy Mama are incredible sources of information and I am inspired by the work they are doing.
For personal blogs, I think that Jodifur, Lemmonex, LivitLuvit, MamaLaw (the masterminds behind Blogalicious), Mommy Needs A Cocktail, Not a Girl, Not Yet a Wino, Petroville, Smiling Mama, BananaBlueberry, DC Urban Dad, Caffeinated, Laundry for Six, and heck all of the voices at DC Metro Moms and The Washington Times Communities (um no, they don’t pay me to say that) are distinctive and should receive a tiara-wearing place in your RSS.
