Compression socks have been on my list of things to try for awhile now. Ever since observing Paula Radcliffe sporting them, I must admit that I’ve been more than a little intrigued. I couldn’t figure out if she was making a fashion statement or if they were some sort of elite runner secret. Happily I was given an opportunity to try it out for myself courtesy of  Pro Compression Socks and Fitfluential. Why compression socks? According to research,  added compression keeps blood from pooling in your legs promoting good blood flow and thereby reducing that heavy, fatigued feeling during and following a…

It is mid-September yet I can already feel my skin drying out from lack of moisture. Ugh. Fall is far and away my favorite season but it ushers in with it a whole slew of beauty concerns. And standing at the top of the concern list is dry, cracked skin.  I’ve been a big fan of (seed) Body Care products for years now. I really love the owner’s personal story as well as the science behind the products that the couple creates together. I’m always thrilled to try out a new product of theirs and I am never, never disappointed. Their newest…

I have, quite accidentally, stumbled upon the perfect summer dress. The High Shore Wrap dress by Fresh Produce. So versatile that I was able to wear it successfully to three very different functions – dinner at very upscale restaurant with colleagues, a blogger book party and a in industry function/awards social. It worked beautifully no matter the occasion or accessories. As flattering as it is wearable, the dress  is incredibly stylish yet it still feels similar to wearing pajamas. (Seriously. It is the most comfortable dress I own, sans my other Fresh Produce dresses.) The faux wrap is adjustable and ties for…

I am in photo nirvana at this moment. I found the most incredible photo app today just by happenstance. It is called Polamatic and it is created by none other than Polaroid. It is the perfect blend between modern digital photography and classic Polaroid style. The app allows users to create a retro photo by either shooting a new picture or use an existing one from their library, adding a  frame, applying a filter and/or caption. I am having so much fun! There are 12 frames with names like “crumpled,” “tape,” and “kinda new.”  The app also features 12 photo effects…

There are few things in this world that are as rewarding and rejuvenating as a good night’s sleep. I know that when I don’t rest my body and my mind I am unable to fully concentrate on the tasks ahead of me, let alone the needs of my family. (And they have a lot of needs, believe me.) I’ve mentioned before that my husband and I recently upgraded to a Sleep Number bed. I can honestly say that it has made a huge difference in the quality of our lives. And just when I didn’t think my slumber couldn’t get any better,…

Well, we finally got our braces! September has been an exciting month of change for my middle schooler – new school, new responsibilities and of course, NEW BRACES. What do you think? Can’t see a thing, can you? Even his teachers didn’t notice the change. (His grandparents had no idea either. Totally floored them.) Besides the fact that you can’t even tell that he is wearing braces, there are so many things about the Invisalign Teen experience that we love so far: a. Super easy to use- Pop them out to eat. Pop them back in when you are done.…

Before blogging, scrapbooking used to be my biggest obsession. I loved being visually creative and compiling memories of  my family and our adventures together. But somewhere along the line, I stopped having the time (or budget!) to be creative. And then I lost my passion for it. Until digital scrapbooking came along. At first I found the premise of digital scrapbooking to be a bit intimidating. I was worried about the difficulty in dealing with the technology. I was worried about the expense. I was worried about the time it would take. No longer. Especially considering my recent discovery of…

“The bed is a bundle of paradoxes: we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late.” – Charles Caleb Colton If you’ve been around my blog a time or two you know that back in May I participated in a Tweet Dreams event for Sleep Number/Select Comfort with my friend Lara of Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom.  As part of that promotion I was given the opportunity to own the new i10 Sleep Number bed.…
